Yahoo! Canada Giving Away Studio Time

So after Google and Cnet, Yahoo! is my Favorite internet portal and they might have just moved up a spot. Yahoo! Canada has just announced they will be holding a elimination-style contest to Find the Next big thing. The "Up Yours" contest offers the winner $10,000 cash, 30 hours recording time at Metalworks Studios, a $10,000 scholarship to the Metalworks Institute, as well as a shot at a record deal with Universal.

Yahoo is handing out flyer's all over Canadian Music week here in Toronto which by the way is ending tomorrow. You can also hear radio ads on the Edge 102 and talk to the edge team of interns at any edge event for the next month.

The Contest starts Next week and Runs until the end of April. Contestant's can upload the videos and Songs online and will be judges in a show to air on yahoo.ca and a yet to be named network. The top three, who will be announced on May 1. Voting for the winner ends May 6.

The same contest Ran last year in the USA with Host Tom Green. So since everyone I know seems to be a musician these days I'm writing and sending this out.

Maybe one of you will be the next Kelly Clarkson.
